We at Papaveria Press are very pleased to announce that we will be republishing the Glastonbury Tarot in a limited edition, with a tentative release date of Winter 2011. First released by Gothic Image Publishers in Europe and by Weiser in the US and Canada in 1999, the cards and book have long been out of print. With original art and text by Lisa Tenzin-Dolma, the deck focuses on the history and mythology of Glastonbury. Lisa’s striking images are ripe with colour and emotive resonance, and the deck has been well-loved by many throughout the years. Papaveria will re-release the cards with an accompanying booklet following in our tradition of producing fine objects by hand, working closely with Lisa to produce an edition that will reflect the mythic landscape from which these cards were born. We are very pleased to be working with Lisa to bring this beautiful deck back into the world.
Lisa Tenzin-Dolma is the author of numerous self-help books, a novel, a screenplay, and over 500 magazine articles on a wide variety of subjects and is involved with the US film industry as Special Consultant to films. Her childhood and teens living in England, Malta, Scotland, Malaysia, and Singapore sparked a deep ongoing interest in exploring the myths, philosophies and spiritual paths of various cultures, and shaped the course of her life and work. Lisa’s curiosity about a variety of subjects led her into several careers as diverse as music, the medical profession, practicing and teaching astrology and tarot, designing clothes and jewellery, illustrating and writing. She was awarded Doctor of Philosophy in Humanities by Moffett University in 2009.
Passionate about animal welfare, Lisa is a qualified animal psychologist, specializing in rehabilitating rescue dogs, and is involved with providing support for animal charities, rescue kennels and dog owners. Lisa also works in tandem with veterinary surgeons whose clients need help with behavioural issues or have pets which have undergone trauma. She is a full member of The Association of INTO Dogs, an organisation of trainers and behaviourists who use only positive and respectful methods in their work with dogs.
Lisa lives in the West Country with the youngest of her five children her deerhound-greyhound lurcher, Skye, and very often a foster-dog, too.
