The Honey Month, written by the wondrous Amal El-Mohtar, is another of Papaveria’s projects soon to manifest. Amal’s work has appeared in both Cabinet des Fées and in the Jabberwocky anthology; this will be her first (but hopefully not her last) title by Papaveria Press.
And Their Lips Rang with the Sun is a recent example of her superbly crafted work. If that’s not enough for you, try this, her reading her phenomenal poem Song for an Ancient City, which inspired me so much that I printed a copy and hung it in my studio so that I could soak in the song as I work. Amal also co-edits (with Jessica P. Wick) the poetry webzine Goblin Fruit, one of my favourite places to visit on the net.
We are producing The Honey Month in both a paperback and limited handbound edition. Oliver Hunter has graciously provided the artwork for the cover of the paperback edition, as well as lush illustrations which will appear inside both editions. The delicious, limited edition will come with its very own sample of honey, and be bound in the fabrics shown below.
