After a long but relatively uneventful journey, we arrived on Friday, precisely 24 hours after we set off from our old home in the UK.

Yesterday we unpacked the van, and today we’ll finish setting up the temporary studio. The hamlet is peaceful and quiet. This morning all we could hear was the ticking of the clock over the wood stove and the purring of Timmy the tomcat who was asleep on the sofa beside us. We woke to find a world covered in snow.

It is good to be back. It still hasn’t sunk in that this is home now, but I’m sure by tomorrow evening, after a day of sitting at my desk, it will hit me. For now I’m just going to enjoy a walk in the snow, a warm fire, and the company of old friends and new.

**love** the welcome sign
(and love the landscape scroll of photos on the right–is that new?)

Hee! We laughed so hard when we saw that sign. It was a wonderful welcome.
Those landscape pics on the side have been there quite some time. They are pulled from my Flickr account and get updated whenever I add photos there. That’s going to happen a lot more often now.
